Bombax tree in Hawai`i
Pahala Pink
Spring time in Ka`u brings out beautiful flowers such as those that bloom in April on the Pahala Pink tree located on Maile Street in the Village of Pahala. April is a time when the last whales can be seen from the cliffs of South Point as they leave for the summer waters of Alaska after giving birth to calves over winter in Hawai`i. During Spring there are traditional Hawaiian rodeos in Na`alehu, Hawaiian music and dance concerts throughout Ka`u, particularly in the communities of Volcano, Pahala, Na`alehu and Ocean View. Ka `u is Hawai`i's least inhabited and best preserved cultural and environmental district and there is always an opportunity to learn and to participate. Enjoy opportunities to go on Wild Cave Trips in Volcano and enjoy Kahuku hikes in the national park. Visit artists during the opening of their shows. Take a class. Click on a month above for detailed listings of many community, arts and entertainment events of Ka`u
